The Office of the Health Care Advocate (HCA) helps Vermonters with problems and questions about health care and access to services. However, the HCA does not advise businesses. This page provides links to information and help for small businesses.
Small businesses (those with 100 or fewer employees) may directly enroll through the insurance carriers instead of through the Vermont Health Connect system. Small businesses may qualify for tax credits to help with the cost of employee coverage. See this Vermont Health Connect web page for more information.
Small business owners who need help comparing Vermont Health Connect plans for employees can use a registered broker. Registered brokers hold broker licenses with qualifications for accident and health insurance, and have met all Vermont Health Connect training requirements. Brokers can charge a fee for their services. Learn more about the Broker Program on the Vermont Health Connect website.
Vermont Health Connect also answers questions on its Small Business Hotline at 1-855-499-9800.
