Low-income Vermonters can consider a new offer from Internet Essentials from Comcast. It provides internet service to those who:
- qualify based on income and other factors, and
- live in an area served by Comcast.
Starting March 16, 2020:
- Internet Essentials is offering new customers 60 days of free service. It is normally available to qualified low-income households for $9.95/month plus taxes. (If you choose to continue the service after two months, you will pay the standard rate.)
- They are also increasing upload and download speeds for the Internet Essentials service for all new and existing customers.
The changes will help Vermonters make use of the internet for any increased need (for example, to work or study from home).
The Internet Essentials program also sells lower-priced, refurbished computers.
