Free Legal Advice Clinic for Emergency Housing Issues

Emergency housing

Vermont Legal Aid is hosting a weekly legal advice clinic for Vermonters experiencing homelessness. Lawyers will answer legal questions about participation in the General Assistance Emergency Housing program (also known as the “motel program”). Call and ask for a free 30-minute confidential phone appointment.

What: General Assistance Housing Legal Clinic

When: Every week on Mondays and Thursdays. Time slots available from 1 - 3 p.m.

Where: Over the phone.

How to sign up: To schedule a free phone appointment, call 1-800-889-2047. Leave a message with your name and phone number, ask for a General Assistance Housing Legal Clinic appointment, and be sure to include the best time to return your call.

Please note: Our attorneys cannot help with criminal issues. Your appointment must involve your own problem, and not a question about a family member or friend’s problem. All consultations are confidential. This clinic is by appointment only. The number of available appointments may be limited.

We look forward to hearing from you!
