Low-income tax practice intersects with a wide variety of non-tax proceedings.
Vermont Legal Aid's Christine Speidel and Tara Straw from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities gave this presentation at the American Bar Association May meeting in Washington D.C. As part of the “Low-Income Taxpayers Representation Workshop” sponsored by the ABA Tax Section’s Pro Bono & Tax Clinics Committee, this panel focused on tax-related appeals before the federal Health Insurance Marketplace and discussed when tax practitioners could help clients address ACA-related problems through family or probate court.
MODERATOR: Daniel Knudsen, Oklahoma Indian Legal Services, Oklahoma City, OK
PANELISTS: Tara Straw, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Washington, D.C.; Christine Speidel, Vermont Legal Aid, Springfield, VT
