VLA Co-Hosts a Monthly BIPOC Legal Aid Clinic
Vermont Legal Aid and the Root Social Justice Center in Brattleboro are hosting a monthly BIPOC Legal Aid Clinic. BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous and People of Color.
Held from 2:30 - 6 p.m. on the last Thursday of each month, the clinic offers free, culturally responsive legal support in Vermont. Services include tenant rights guidance, eviction support, housing advocacy, and help with clearing criminal records.
“We are pleased to partner on this monthly legal clinic. These events help remove legal barriers, promote equity, and empower BIPOC Vermonters,” said Zoe Cunningham-Cook, an attorney at Vermont Legal Aid.
While this is a BIPOC-centered clinic, it is multiracial and open to all identities, meaning everyone can access this support.
Appointments are preferred. For more information, call Jeannette at Vermont Legal Aid at 802-885-5181.
