Is Your Name on the Vermont Unclaimed Property List?

The Unclaimed Property Division of the Vermont State Treasurer Office reunites Vermont residents with their lost or abandoned money or assets.

What is unclaimed property?

Banks, utilities, insurance agencies, retailers, corporations, state agencies and other entities report items such as:

  • uncashed pay checks
  • forgotten bank accounts
  • unrefunded security deposits
  • stocks returned by the US Postal Service
  • mutual funds
  • IRAs
  • contents of safe deposit boxes

The Vermont State Treasurer Office receives these assets and keeps them safe until they are claimed by rightful owners or heirs.
